Updates to The Wheel Screener Are Back!
Future plans and what's to come. Glad to be back.

This post also corresponds to a small update in the changelog which you can read here
I quit my old job a few weeks ago and have since decided to go full time as a software consultant, educator, and content creator. That means I have a lot more time to work on The Wheel Screener and I'm excited to get back to it! I've got a few ideas that I'm going to focus on in the coming weeks. Read on to find out what's coming up!
Enable Full Customization of the Dashboard
Soon you'll be able to designate which columns you want to be shown, as well as color, font size, and even font color. I've come to recognize that traders of all styles are using The Wheel Screener, and I want to enable them the most flexibility possible. Want to just show ticker and volume? Fine. Want to show all the columns in a giant Times New Roman font and have them be a neon pink? You got it.
More Frequent Option Data Updates
Currently, The Wheel Screener only updates it's data once every day. I want to change that to be more frequent, so that you can get the most up to date data possible. (I know there is a refresh button, but I'm not sure how many people are using it, and it's not very well tested on my part.)
Historical Data
Backtesting options and options trading strategies remains still one of the most difficult tasks in this industry. Instead of throwing out and refreshing the entire dataset every day, I want to keep a historical record of all the data that has been collected. This will allow you to go back and see how the data has changed over time, and even backtest your own strategies. Eventually the goal here would be to potentially train a machine learning model to better identify when pricing inefficiencies are present, as well as
The Wheel Screener Goes Mobile
Straight from the Full Stack Craft laboratory 👨🔬 we're working on something really special... it's time for The Wheel Screener to go mobile! 📱 Now that I know what people like, don't like, and have asked for in the past, I am eager to build a completely redesigned, from the ground up, mobile experience. I'm going to be working on this in the coming weeks and I'm excited to share it with you all!
Continual Website Design and Layout Improvements
It's a constantly moving target but I'm focusing on getting this site's current design and layout to be as clean as possible - it's a work in progress. I hope you like the changes I've already made to make The Wheel Screener more professional - removal of animations, extraneous elements, and more.
More Marketing and Outreach
The Wheel Screener has enjoyed some success despite my lack of doing absolutely zero marketing or advertising (outside of the initial launch where I posted to socials). I'm working with some folks in the background to do more marketing, and as more people find out about and use The Wheel Screener, I'm hoping I'll get even more feedback and ideas from the community.
More Blog Posts
As part of this marketing effort and outreach, I'll also be posting to the blog more. I'm looking forward to writing blog posts related to The Wheel Screener itself and the options trading industry as a whole. The goal is to attract traders of all types and skill levels to The Wheel Screener, so I'll be writing posts that vary in their complexity from beginner to advanced.
Thank You!
Very excited and glad to be back making The Wheel Screener a part of my daily workflow.
-Cheers! 🍺
